about us

Welcome to our website. Our work takes many forms, but each is interlaced with the desire to bring upliftment and compassion to the journey we all are traveling.

We are the writers of the Chillout Alerts inspirational text messages for Sprint cell phones, and for all other major phones though Dada.net. We have led meditation retreats and personal development programs worldwide for over 25 years; and we are corporate consultants and personal coaches, having worked with CEO's and senior management of major corporations. We are the authors of fifteen books on personal development, meditation and social action; have hosted our own TV series, Chill Out, which was rated the most popular show on Channel Health TV; and are featured speakers at expos and events worldwide. Deb is a leading authority of, and is highly respected for her intuitive understanding of, the bodymind relationship. Her latest book, Your Body Speaks Your Mind, won the 2007 Visionary Book Award and was a Finalist for the 2007 Nautilus Book Award. Ed is a respected meditation teacher who is sought after for his compassionate understanding of the human condition.

Deb, from England, trained in bodymind therapy in both the UK and USA; and in Buddhist meditation with Tai Situ Rinpoche, for whom she founded the Maitreya Institute in Hawaii in 1983. She has taught meditation since 1977, and bodymind awareness since 1981. Ed, from New York, trained with Swami Satchidananda, the Woodstock Guru, and with Paramahansa Satyananda in India at the Bihar School of Yoga. He has been teaching meditation and inner conscious relaxation (ICR) since 1976. We are VIPs on the President’s Council of Fitness, Washington D.C. Together we have been empowered to teach by some of the greatest Yoga and Buddhist Masters. We have received teachings from HH the Dalai Lama. We are unique in blending the wisdom, compassion and skillful means of the Eastern teachings with the complexity of the Western mind, encouraging each person to find the truth within themselves.

After many years on the spiritual path, we have both come to realize that the most important thing any of us can do is to live in the preciousness of the present moment and not to take ourselves too seriously. Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused! Accepting ourselves as we are is transformational. We cannot become the perfectly loving, selfless and generous person we want to be overnight. We need to be patient with our mistakes and not expect to get it right all the time. The meaning of life does not come in a finished form, ready-made; it must be created, received and revealed.

What is needed within each one of us is a compassionate revolution—a revolution that transforms our world from the inside out. Life presents challenges for each of us to confront, but with an open heart we can shift our attitude from worry, fear and self-absorption to kindness, compassion and generosity.

We have been featured in The Sunday Times, The Evening Standard, The DailyMail, Variety, OK Magazine, Hello Magazine Celebrity Health Special, and on New Dimensions radio.
